The Poet and the King.
The most
important figure in early Irish society was the Poet. The King took
second place.
Colette
Kavanagh explains this phenomenon and why Ireland, with a small
population of less than three million inhabitants, has produced many
of the greatest poets and writers in the English language. James
Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett, Jonathan Swift, W.B. Yeats and
Seamus Heaney are but a few. Dr. Kavanagh invites us to explore the
depths of the Irish psyche and share her passion for poetry.
